A radiant, smiling Truth sits on a globe, her foot on the sun; Bernini carved it after his disgrace over the St Peter's bell towers, but the figure of Time was never made.

Why it matters

Truth, a naked young woman, sits on a boulder holding the Sun, gazing upward with a look of peace. Bernini meant her to be unveiled by a figure of Time above, but Time was never carved.
