Bernini's lover Costanza Bonarelli is shown with her lips slightly opened: one of his most personal works. When he discovered she was also having an affair with his brother, Bernini attacked him.

  • It was carved in the 1630s.
  • She was the wife of Bernini's assistant Matteo Bonarelli.
  • Bernini was fined 3,000 scudi, but Pope Urban VIII released him from the fine.
