Why it matters
The enthroned Virgin is flanked by Saint Jerome with his lion and the archangel Raphael presenting young Tobias, who carries the miraculous fish that would restore his father's sight.

- It may commemorate the Book of Tobit's admission to the canon; Jerome had translated it into Latin.
