Why it matters
A woman with flame-red hair kisses a man on the neck. Munch insisted it was 'just a woman kissing a man on the neck', but his friend Stanisław Przybyszewski called it Vampire, and the name stuck.
Did you know?
- Munch painted six versions between 1893 and 1895.
- A version stolen from the Munch Museum in 1988 was recovered the same year.
